ASL Airlines Boeing 737-400F

ASL Airlines announced on LinkedIn support for Foynes Aviation Museum celebrations with a flypast on 14th September by EI-STV Boeing 737-400F msn 28494 ASL Airlines Ireland callsign ‘ABR737’. The aircraft operated a sortie from and to Shannon Airport for the occasion.

Foynes, on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, was Ireland’s first transatlantic airport and the European hub of flying boat air travel from 1937 to 1945.

An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar T.D , officially opened a new €5 million extension to the Foynes Flying Boat Museum. The project received €1.75 million in funding under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund as well as funding from Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media  , Limerick.ie  and from fundraising a sponsorship.

The museum’s special day is expected to attract 100,000 aviation enthusiasts and tourists next year to the village of Foynes in Limerick, Ireland.
