Aer Lingus Regional exclusively operated by Emerald Airlines commenced Dublin to Brest route on 20 May operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays , using 72-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft. The route marks the carrier’s 30th route and 9th new route launch this year.
On Tuesday 23 May the inauguration flight had presence of Michaël Quernez , Vice-President of the Brittany Region in charge of climate and mobility, of Josselin LE GALL , Honorary Consul of France in Ireland and Christopher Buckley, director of Emerald Airlines.
Brest Bretagne Airport Director, Claude Aphexad said “We welcome Emerald Airlines- Aer Lingus as we once again connect our territory to Ireland. We are always happy and proud to welcome a new partner to offer the world to Brittany and Brittany to the world.”
Emerald Airlines Director Christopher Buckley, said “We are delighted to launch our new line this summer between Brest and Dublin. For customers looking for a seamless and direct connection to Ireland, we are pleased to offer you more choices when planning your summer getaways.”
Emerald airlines will fly up to 800 flights per week, across 30 routes serving 20 destinations in Ireland, UK, Channel Islands and France this summer from its bases in Belfast City and Dublin with a fleet of 16 ATR72-600 aircraft , with over 2.5 million seats on sale this year.
Brittany, France’s northwesternmost region, is a hilly peninsula extending out toward the Atlantic Ocean. Its lengthy, rugged coastline is dotted with beach resorts such as chic Dinard and walled Saint-Malo, built on rock in the English Channel. The Pink Granite Coast is famed for its unusual, blush-hued sand and rocks. Brittany is known for its abundant prehistoric menhirs.
