This week saw a historic Irish aviation occasion as an Irish Registered Boeing 737 MAX operated by MIAT Mongolian Airline became the first 737 MAX passenger flight into China on Monday 10th 2022 since since the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) grounded all MAX aircraft in March 2019.

The flight was operated by EI-MNG Boeing 737 MAX 8 msn 43795 named ‘Tolui Khaan’ leased from Avolon on MGL235/6 operating from Ulaanbaatar (UBN) to Guangzhou (CAN).

This aircraft operated for Tunisair on its European route network from 19 August to 28 September.

The carrier also operates EI-CXV Boeing 737-8CX msn 32364 leased from Macquarie AirFinance.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines operates a fleet of one Boeing 737 MAX 8, three Boeing 737-800, one Boeing 757-222PCF, and one Boeing 767-34GER. The carrier has one Boeing 787-9 on order.
