The Barcelona-based low-cost airline Vueling Airlines part of the IAG Group has re-affirmed its commitment to the Irish market, indicating that they will extend their current Cork to Paris (Orly) service into the winter season and announcing new Paris Orly to Shannon route commencing twice weekly on 12 September operating on Mondays and Fridays.

The European low-cost carrier will operate services on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from October 2022 through to March 2023. The inclusion of the Vueling Cork – Paris service in Cork Airport’s Winter Schedule is a welcome affirmation of Vueling’s commitment to operations at Ireland’s second largest airport.

Vueling Airlines operates daily services from Dublin to Barcelona and Paris Orly. The carrier sub-leased an Aer Lingus Airbus A330-300 to operate services from its Paris Orly from 7th November 2021 to 14 March 2022 pending Airbus A321neo deliveries.

Shannon Group CEO, Mary Considine said “We are delighted to welcome our new carrier Vueling, part of IAG, to Shannon Airport. This service is another major boost for inbound and outbound business and tourism interests in the region. We have been working closely with Vueling to deliver the service and are looking forward to seeing our passengers jet off to this globally renowned city, steeped in culture and history. Paris is one of the most popular cities in the world and we know this will be an exciting destination for our passengers to enjoy.”

Vueling’s Chief Commercial, Strategy, Customer and Network officer, Carolyn Prowse said “Vueling has scheduled a total of 114 destinations in 31 countries until 29 October 2022, reaching a very similar level of operations to 2019. We are very excited to see a progressive development of business this year and to keep expanding the airline’s offering across Europe. The new direct route between Shannon and Paris Orly airports reinforces Vueling’s interest in providing a more flexible and varied offer to travellers based in Ireland.”
