Irish budget carrier Ryanair added 22 brand new Boeing 737-800 in FY17Q4 from 1 January to 31 March completing deliveries for the current financial year. As usual all 22 aircraft where delivered to Dublin for post delivery modifications prior to entry to service across it’s route network.
On 21 March a significant milestone was achieved as Boeing and Ryanair celebrated the delivery of the airline’s 450th Next-Generation 737-800. This milestone has been reached in less than two decades, with the Irish low-cost carrier taking an average delivery of 25 737-800s per year since 1999.
In this period Ryanair returned to lessors or sold 70 Boeing 737-800 aircraft hence current fleet in service is 384 units.
Ryanair’s Chief Operations Officer, Mick Hickey said “Ryanair is proud to partner with Boeing and has operated an all-Boeing fleet since 1994. r current order of 737-800s and the 737-MAX 200 ‘Gamechanger’ will allow us to grow our fleet to 585 aircraft and our passenger numbers to 200 million per annum by 2024, maintaining our position as Europe’s largest, and greenest and cleanest airline.”

Ryanair has 80 unfilled orders for 737-800s, Ryanair is also the launch customer for the 737 MAX 200, with 100 unfilled orders.
