Aer Lingus has announced the launch of a new weekly Shannon to Lanzarote service for the winter season.

The service will operate on Saturdays from 26th October 2013 to 29th March 2014 EI922 departs Shannon at  1305 arrives Lanzarote 1705 EIN923 departs Lanzarote at 1755 arrives Shannon 22000.

 The service is operated by Airbus A320s adding an additional 8,000 seats from Shannon Airport.

This latest addition comes just weeks after the announcement of significant expansion to the transatlantic schedule from Shannon Airport, with flights to New York and Boston almost doubling in frequency and the transatlantic service returning to an all year round schedule.

Aer Lingus Director of Communications Declan Kearney said “This further addition to our winter schedule from Shannon should prove very popular. Lanzarote is a fantastic destination for winter sun-seekers. We look forward to welcoming customers on board the new service.”

Shannon Airport Chief Executive Neil Pakey said that having winter season services to Lanzarote is a major boost for passengers “We are delighted with Aer Lingus’ commitment at Shannon, especially coming on top of the recent announcement of increased frequency from January, to Boston and New York.”
