Dublin based aircraft lessor AWAS continues to expand it’s footprint in the high growth Asian market with announcement of several new contracts expanding its customer base in the region, leasing two new Airbus A320s to fast growing Pakistan airline Air Blue for delivery in late 2013 and 2014, in this quarter it delivered two new Airbus A320s to Jetstar Asia and Jetstar Australia in this quarter, it added All Nippon Airways as a new customer leasing three Airbus A320s.

The Airbus A320s being leased to Air Blue and All Nippon Airways will be delivered fuel-saving Sharklets, saving airlines up to $270,000 per year with enhanced maintenance and operational benefits, Sharklets can save over 730t less CO2 emissions per aircraft.

AWAS continues to grow its relationship with Japanese carrier Starflyer which began in 2011 with an Airbus A320 delivery expanding to offer a range of services including: Cargo Loading System (CLS), Extended Twin-Operations (ETOPS), and In-Flight Entertainment to meet the specific needs of Starfly’s business model targeting the business travellers.

In addition it has a sold a Boeing 767-300ER from its portfolio to Air Do the Hokkaido based airline of Japan, which was originally leased to the carrier upon delivery.
