On the 27th July on a statement on it’s website OLT Express Poland (http://www.oltexpress.com/) announced it couldn’t get past recent difficulties to find a strategic investor. The airline employed 800 staff carrying 320,000 passengers with a fleet of 15 Airbus A320 Family & ATR42/72 Aircraft since it launched operations capturing 76% of the Polish domestic market (OLT Express 27th July).
OLT Express has been in operation since 2001 under the Jet Air brand name and evolved into three business units OLT Germany, OLT Express, OLT Express Regional following the intergation of Cirrus Airlines, Jet Air and Yes Airways (Centre for Pacific Aviation). It’s German subsidiary OLT Germany
OLT Germany has been acquired by Dutch aviation investor Panta Holdings whom also own Denim Air.
In April 2012 the airline entered the Polish scheduled market launching 10 domestic routes from it’s Warsaw Chopin base and announced plans to launch 50 new international routes from mutiple hubs Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Lodz and Rzeszów (Airline Route April).
On the 25th April the airline announced plans to establish it’s fifth base in Bydgoszcz starting 29th October including a new route to Cork operating twice weekly (Airline Route 25th April).
