CityJet commenced wet-lease five CRJ1000 aircraft to Lufthansa for the 2024 summer season. The five 100-seat aircraft will be based at Lufthansa’s Frankfurt Main base from 31 March until 26 October 2024.

The five aircraft EI-HIA msn 19006, EI-HIB msn 19012, EI-HIC msn 19017, EI-HID msn 19024 and EI-HIE msn 19010 positioned from Cityjet’s Copenhagen base to Frankfurt Main on 30/31 March prior commencement of service today Sunday 31 March on Lufthansa’s domestic and European route network.

Cityjet Chief Commercial Officer Cathal O’Connell, said “we are delighted to once again be able to provide service on behalf of Lufthansa as we continue to develop our wet lease business model at CityJet. This year, we will have a total of seventeen aircraft under contract with Lufthansa and SAS Scandinavian Airlines and look forward to continued development with our current and new customers into the future”.

In recent years, CityJet has provided capacity as a service to many major European airlines, including Aer Lingus, Air France, Brussels Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa and SAS. CityJet recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and became part of SARA – Strategic Alliance of Regional Airlines including Air Nostrum (Spanish), CityJet DAC and CityJet A/S (Irish with a Danish subsidiary), and Hibernian Airways (Irish) operating a fleet of 74 aircraft with plans to grow to 100 aircraft over next three years.
