Aer Lingus has introduced its brand new state-of-the-art Airbus A321Neo-XLR aircraft on select European routes from Dublin Hub this summer, optimizing fleet utilization between transatlantic services. The next-generation aircraft operates selected flights to high-demand destinations including Amsterdam (AMS), Brussels (BRU) , London Heathrow (LHR), Munich (MUC) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
The A321neo-XLR (Extra Long Range) features a two-class configuration with 16 full-flat AerSpace Business Class seats and 168 Economy Class seats, offering passengers enhanced comfort on short- to medium-haul flights typically dominated by standard narrow-body aircraft.
In addition to its continental deployments, the aircraft also operates daily Emerald Airlines service EIN3252/3 between Dublin and Edinburgh, as part of the Aer Lingus Regional network, to meet peak summer demand with connecting traffic to and from North America.
The A321XLR delivers up to 20% lower fuel burn per seat compared to previous-generation narrow-body aircraft. It is also certified to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Aer Lingus is the first operator to integrate the A321XLR into both its long- and short-haul networks.
