Aer Lingus is leaning into the growing demand for “coolcations” — winter holidays in chillier, scenic destinations, with the launch of three new seasonal routes from Dublin and Cork. The airline’s move aligns with a growing trend among European travellers opting for winter escapes that offer a mix of alpine sports, festive city breaks, and cultural tourism, often referred to as “coolcations.”
Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, said “Aer Lingus’ three new winter routes expand our network and offer new winter escape destinations for our customers flying from both Dublin and Cork. Winter breaks or ‘coolcations’ are growing in popularity among Irish consumers, and we’re delighted to respond to this trend by offering greater choice and convenience for seasonal travel across the continent this year.”
The carrier announced it will operate a new weekly service from Dublin to Turin, Italy, every Sunday from December 21, 2025, to March 29, 2026. The Turin route is expected to appeal to winter sports enthusiasts heading for the Italian Alps.
Meanwhile, Cork Airport will see the introduction of two new winter services: a weekly flight to Geneva, Switzerland, every Saturday between December 20, 2025, and March 28, 2026, as well as a twice-weekly route to Prague, Czech Republic, operating on Thursdays and Sundays from October 23, 2025, through March 26, 2026.
All three routes will be served by Aer Lingus’s Airbus A320-200 aircraft, offering 174 seats.
