Dublin based AWAS announced today it has agreed to place nine Airbus A320 aircraft from its new order pipeline with Thai Airways, the flag carrier of Thailand. These aircraft will be used for the expansion of Thai’s successful regional subsidiary ThaiSmile.

AWAS President & CEO Ray Sisson said “We are extremely proud today to add Thai Airways as a customer.  The ThaiSmile network has successfully expanded as customers recognize the value of a product with the strong brand and service associated with Thai Airways.”

AWAS AsiaPac VP Sales JT Foo said “ThaiSmile is a rapidly growing regional carrier that operates a lower cost model with the benefits of superior service and dedication to customer comfort that has been long-associated with Thai Airways.  Our team is delighted to establish this new relationship with them, and to help them grow well into the future.”

Thai Airways President Mr. Sorajak said “We are very pleased to enter into a new relationship with AWAS for the lease of nine new A320 aircraft.  AWAS worked very closely with our team to not only secure these aircraft, but to also assist with technical aspects as well as develop a new cabin specification.”
