Irish regional carrier Cityjet has sold an RJ85 to Equatorial Guinea based carrier Air Annobón operating from San Antonio de Pale, Annobón Island. The pictured RJ85 EI-RJS (c/n E2365) positioned Norwich to Shannon on 16th February for painting by Eirtech Aviation, prior to positioning back to Dublin on 26th February, prior delivery.

The RJ85 is named “Mebana”.

On 26th March EI-RJS was delivered Dublin-Palma-Aguenar- Hadj Bey Akhamok Airport-Malabo International and is to take up registration 3C-MAA.

The African Aviation Tribune stated the airline is based out of San Antonio de Palé, the capital of Annobón Island. Air Annobón is owned by  Cándido Nsue Okomo, the director of the national petroleum company, GEPetrol.

Annobón Island (named after “ano bom”, Portuguese for “good year”), also known as Pagalu or Pigalu, is an island of the coast of Equatorial Guinea and is part of the Cameroon Line archipelago according to Wikipedia.

Air Annobón has a fleet of two Bae146-300s.
