Etihad Airways and RAK Airways have announced a new code-share agreement which will see Etihad Airways place its ‘EY’ code on the RAK Airways flight between Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi.

In return, RAK Airways will place its ‘RT’ code on Etihad Airways routes, which initially includes flights between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow, Manchester, Dublin, Bangkok and Geneva.

The Etihad Airways  Chief Commercial Officer Baumgartner said: “We are proud to welcome RAK Airways, a fellow UAE airline, as a codeshare partner. This is the first time Etihad Airways will have its ‘EY’ code on a domestic UAE flight which is an exciting milestone for us.”

RAK Airways will commence operations on Ras Al Khaimah-Abu Dhabi route effective 3rd October operating four times weekly using an Airbus A320.  The airline will shortly take delivery of a first ex-Spanair EC-IPI Airbus A320-232 c/n 202 that will be registered A6-TIA, which is currently being prepared by Dublin Aerospace.
