Avolon, the international aircraft leasing company,  published a Discussion Paper, Values and Valuers, which explores the business of aircraft appraisal and valuation in the aviation industry. The Paper, which is the latest in a series of Discussion Papers published by Avolon, offers guidelines on what to look for when making the key appraiser selection and explores the role of appraisers from a broader industry perspective, identifying areas where change is required to meet the future needs of the industry.

CIT Aerospace Signs 154 Agreements Related To The Lease Of Commercial Aircraft And Delivers 71 Aircraft In 2015


CIT Group Inc announced that CIT Aerospace, a global leader in aircraft finance, signed a total of 154 agreements in 2015 for the current and future leases of commercial aircraft. CIT Aerospace delivered 71 aircraft, including new and used aircraft and lease extensions of the existing fleet, to its airline customers around the world and added 14 new customers to its client base.



Santos Dumont Announces Corporate Realignment and Changes to Executive Team

Santos Dumont announced the corporate realignment of the company into two distinct Commercial and Technical businesses aimed at bringing focused, high value project management solutions to the aviation industry. Ronan Stewart will assume the role of Chief Executive – Commercial, while Enda Clarke will assume the role of Chief Executive – Technical. Concurrently, Cathal Kilmartin will step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer.

ST Aerospace establishes new Irish subsidiary Keystone Leasing 

Singapore-based MRO provider Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero) has established Keystone Leasing, a subsidiary in Singapore with paid-up capital of $10 million. Keystone itself has subsidiaries incorporated in the U.K. and Ireland. Singapore is the leading location in the Asia-Pacific region for aircraft leasing companies to be based, thanks to its favorable double-taxation treaties with other countries as well as tax incentives afforded to aircraft lessors. But Ireland is arguably the world’s leading center for aircraft leasing.



Waypoint Leasing Opens Regional Offices in Australia and Africa/Middle East, Further Expanding Global Reach


Waypoint Leasing (Ireland) Limited the largest independent global helicopter leasing company, announced the opening of two new regional offices, covering the company’s operations in Australia and Africa/The Middle East, respectively. Waypoint’s Australia office, located in Brisbane, will be launched in April 2016 and led by Waypoint executive Chris Wakefield. Establishing the office will further bolster Waypoint’s presence across the region, where the company has already delivered five aircraft to several leading operators. Waypoint’s Africa office, located in Cape Town, will be launched in the second quarter of 2016 and led by Waypoint executive Con Barber. In addition to covering Waypoint’s operations across Africa, Mr. Barber will also cover the firm’s Middle East operations. To date, Waypoint has 12 aircraft on lease to operators in Africa.
