It is a week since the nominations where announced for Bloggers in the Grafton Media Blog Awards Ireland 2012 in a quiet broad and extensive list of 28 categories to be held in the Osprey Hotel Naas Co Kildare on Saturday 13th October.
I am extremely grateful to everyone who took the time out to vote for my blog in the last few weeks since the nominations opened and the Blog Awards Ireland 2012 Team for all their excellent work and the sponsors.
I have to say my nominations exceeded my expectations with the blog nominated in five categories:
My Biography:
I started blogging three years ago initially using WordPress after attending the National College of Ireland Career Boot Camp which was heavily focused on the growing role of social media.
In July 2011 as a member of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Fingal I attended the monthly JCI Fingal training session on the topic Linkedin and in college I was studying Starting Your Own Business/Creating a Winning Business Model Module in All Hallows College as part of my on-going degree studies little did I know where it would take me….
The fusion of the starting your own business/creating a winning business model in college and the JCI Fingal Training session lead to the creation of the Irish Aviation Research Institute blog it’s simple goal to be the leading online source of commercial aviation news in Ireland.
I wanted to leverage my extensive knowledge of the aviation industry with new skills was I developing in Social media platforms and in my degree studies in All Hallows College.
I was persuaded to dispense with the blog I created on WordPress with the launch of the new Irish Aviation Research Institute blog was a fresh start with a new focus, and in tandem my Twitter page was re-branded as @IrishAero shortly after the launch of the Irish Aviation Research Institute blog to grow the brand the Irish Aviation Research Institute.
Kind Regards,
Trevor
