Eirtech Aviation has repainted the last ever built Boeing 767-400 at it’s Dublin Airport facility for a VIP customer. The aircraft A9C-HMH has a fascinating history which is the main focus of this blog article.
The aircraft Boeing 767-4FS(ER) construction number 32405 line number 964 had it’s first flight on 21st March 2008 as N526BA according to website Planespotters.net. It was intended to be delivered as a prototype for the United States Air Force (USAF) Boeing E10A programme.
The E10A was to be the replacement for the many different versions of the 135 that were used for electronic surveillance/countermeasures until the whole programme was shelved on 22nd October 2010.
According to Puget Sound Blog A9C-HMH was delivered Paine Field to Hamburg on 4th February 2011 for completion at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg .
Lufthansa’s Hamburg facility is a specialized completion centre of VIP, corporate and government aircraft. A9C-HMH routed to and from Hamburg on 1st December and following repainting on 29th December.
Boeing delivered a total of 38 Boeing 767-400s with 21 to Delta Airlines and 16 to United Airlines and A9C-HMH.
