The daa announced over 2.6 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in May, an increase of 2.4 million passengers when compared to 2021 and 87% of the passenger numbers seen pre-pandemic in May 2019, with strong growth reported in all market segments – Domestic (11,000) , Europe (1.4 million), UK (700,000) Middle East (51,000) and North America (320,000)
Aer Lingus resumed LAX service on 12 May operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
American Airlines resumed direct daily seasonal flights from Dublin to Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare and Dallas on 6 May significantly increasing capacity using Boeing 777-200(ER) and Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
Aurigny resumed its Guernsey to Dublin route from 17 May operating using ATR72-500 aircraft three times weekly with Channel Islands bilateral agreement in place.
Blue Islands launched its new direct Dublin-Jersey service on 19 May following resolution of the Channel Islands bilateral agreement, which will operate up to six times per week until October using ATR72-600 aircraft.
Westjet resumed its seasonal services to Calgary operating three times weekly using Boeing 787-9 aircraft from 15 May and added new routes to Halifax operating three times weekly on 2 May and a new daily service to Toronto commenced on 15 May using a mix of Boeing 737-700 and Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
