Ryanair Group reopened its Belfast International base on 26th March with two Boeing 737-800NG aircraft operated by Ryanair UK subsidiary operating 16 domestic and European routes with over 140 weekly flights.
The first service was operated by SP-RZG Boeing 737-8200 msn 62320 Buzz from and to Krakow as RYR9557/9556 touching down 0918 local.
G-RUKJ msn operated London Stansted to Belfast International as RUK20 27th March entering service next day to Girona as RUK4802/9624.
G-RUKH msn 33640 operated Manchester to Belfast International as RUK191 28th March entering same day to Edinburgh as RUK181/2.
Belfast International said in an statement “The launch of this new base underlines the necessity of air connectivity for the success of our tourism product, economic development and social mobility.”
Belfast International Airport Business Development Director Uel Hoey, said “As we continue to rebuild the business post pandemic, to be able to welcome Ryanair back on such a significant scale is testament to the hard work that the team in Belfast has invested in securing this new base. Ryanair will bring low fares, high frequency and great choice to the local market and this significant investment and job creation is positive news for this region.”
Ryanair’s Director of Digital & Marketing, Dara Brady said “We are pleased to announce the start of operations at our Belfast International Airport base for Summer’23 to the exciting destinations such as Budapest, Palma, Paris and Valencia. Ryanair will operate 16 total routes this Summer with 2 based aircraft representing an investment of $200m and the creation of over 950 total jobs at Belfast International Airport.
