Aer Lingus Airbus A320

Aer Lingus announced it carried 957,000 passengers in October down 0.5% compared to prior year.
The airline’s strong performance on long-haul continued through October carrying 100,000 passengers up 16.3% with a load factor of 80.3% down 2.7 points on a 20% increase in capacity.

On short-haul the airline carried 754,000 passengers down 4.2% with a load factor 75.4% down 2 points on an 4.3% reduction in capacity, reflecting end of seasonal summer routes and beginning of winter maintenance programme.

Aer Lingus Regional operated by Aer Arann carried 103,000 passengers up 15.7% and year to date 939,000 passengers.

The figures exclude traffic on Aer Lingus Virgin Little Red wet-lease operation.

Year to date Aer Lingus carried 9.276 million passengers up 1.2%.

Compared to the Association of European Airlines (mainly so-called legacy carriers) as a whole, the Aer Lingus passenger load factor was close on short-haul routes (75.4% v 76.2%) and lower on North Atlantic routes (80.3% v. 86.3%).
