United Airlines has deferred the launch of its new SFO to Dublin to 27 March 2021 the start of official IATA Summer 2021 season. The route was formally announced on 18th December 2019.
The service will initially operate four times weekly increasing to a daily service operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The route is critical to Ireland’s post pandemic recovery linking two of the world’s leading centres of technology and innovation Dublin and Silicon Valley.
Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said “San Francisco is the global tech centre of the world and many of the companies based there have offices in Ireland. This new route will further grow tourism and trade between Ireland and the US and provide greater choice and flexibility for both business and leisure passengers. We will work closely with United’s management team to ensure this new service is a success in both directions.”
